PSWA California Open - 2017's First IWCA Affiliate Show - February 18 - 19

The PSWA California Open will be held on February 18-19th in San Diego California in San Diego, California.

The 2016 IWCA Decorative Carver of the Year Awards will be presented at the PSWA California Open Reception & Auction on Saturday, February 19th, 2017. http://PSWA.net

2017 IWCA Rules Booklet & Brochure - Now Available

The IWCA is proud to announce a complete line-up of IWCA Championship events for 2017, as well as a new division; IWCA Working Shorebird Division, and a new Affiliate Member Show; Wisconsin Waterfowl Association’s Decoy Carving Competition and Exhibition holding thier fist competition in Stevens Point, WI in September.

There were also changes made to the rules, so it will be important for all competitors, and judges to thoroughly read the rules to insure there are no last minute surprises.

In 2017 the IWCA will offer these events at various IWCA Affiliate Member Shows:

• IWCA Style Decoy Championship - June - Harkers Island, NC
• IWCA Style Shorebird Championship - March - Strongsville, OH
• IWCA Working Decoy Championship - September - Vancouver, WA
• IWCA Canvas Decoy Championship - December - Harkers Island, NC
• IWCA Young Guns Championship - December - Harkers Island, NC
• IWCA Decorative Carver of the Year (Intermediate & Novice)

2016 IWCA Decorative Carver of the Year Winners Announcement

Congratulations to all of the decorative wildfowl carvers who stepped up to the challenge of the 2016 IWCA Decorative Carver of the Year Contest at both the Intermediate and Novice levels.

In the Intermediate level, Randy Hansen topped of the year with 470 points for 1st place, 2nd Place went to Hank Wurgler with 310 points, and 3rd place goes to Maxine Brown with 135 points.

At the Novice level, Bill Strickler achieved 130 points for 1st place, Lisa Strang and Dick Stern tied with 115 points for 2nd place.

2016 Janice Smith Champagne Waterfowl Competition - December 2nd - Core Sound Museum

The Core Sound Museum in Harkers Island, NC will be holding the 2016 Janice Smith Champagne Waterfowl Competition on Friday, December 2, 2016.

2016 IWCA Working Decoy Championship - Core Sound Decoy Festival - December 3 & 4 - Harkers Island, NC

The final IWCA Affliate Member Show will take place on December 3rd & 4th, 2016 in Harkers Island, North Carolina.

The 2016 IWCA Working Decoy Championship will be hosted by Core Sound Decoy Festival, offering prizes of $200 - 1st Best in Show, $100 - 2nd Best in Show, and $50 - 3rd Best of Show!

The Core Sound Decoy Festival offers IWCA divisions for all levels of competition, Open, Intermediate & Novice. Decorative Carver of the Year points may be obtained at the Intermediate and Novice levels.
